Selecting “Club of the Year” is a difficult challenge for a district Governor. So many of you are doing great work in your communities, and many of you deserve the recognition. After much thought, I have selected the Rotary Club of Summerside to receive this recognition for 2016-17.

RC Summerside has just completed an enormous project for their community, the Inspire Learning Centre.  I’m told that it took three years to plan and about a year to construct. The project involved the repurposing of a surplus Federal Building into a three-floor structure, which encompasses a traditional library, and space to support a variety of community needs. The club engaged the whole community in the planning and the financing and now have a wonderful facility, that will serve the residents of Summerside long into the future.

Accepting the award from DG Elva is Gord Coffin of the Rotary Club of Summerside.  Congratulations.
